Alida Is Love: A Savannah Getaway

Only a few hours away as the road goes, Savannah offers authentic Southern charm with cobblestoned squares, beautiful architecture, and a touch of supernatural magic - perfect for a weekend adventure! Back in November, I enjoyed a memorable getaway to the Southern gem, courtesy of the Alida Hotel and Bill Kaelin Marketing, with a group of LGBTQ influencers.

Overlooking the river, The Alida Hotel is the perfect choice for a leisurely weekend getaway. It is part of Marriot’s Tribute Portfolio hotels, a select group of design hotels offer you that coveted touch of luxury that makes any stay enjoyable. Everywhere you look, the attention to detail and carefully curated spaces makes you want to move in permanently. The Alida Hotel worked closely with SCAD on creating individually designed rooms and spaces, and it definitely shows. One of the best things for me when staying at a new hotel is not only experiencing innovative and gorgeous interior design, but also get inspiration from all the many details and design ideas that are literally everywhere to be seen at the Alida Hotel.

The hotel also offers wonderful options for drinking and dining, from the complimentary breakfast at Rhett, Alida’s signature river street restaurant, the rooftop bar The Lost Square, beautifully perched above the riverfront, and the Trade Room, Alida’s lobby bar serving craft cocktails adjacent to the pool deck.

With the Alida as our trusted base, the weekend offered plenty of Savannah adventures. Friday night, we started off with cocktails and mingling at the hotel, and then made our way to the notorious Club One for their Friday night drag show cabaret.

Saturday afternoon was spent exploring the coastal beauty of the Savannah surroundings. A boat trip to Page Island and Daufuksie Island by Destinations DMC immersed us in the magic wonder of the marshes and the natural beauty of the islands.

After unwinding for a couple of hours back at the hotel, Saturday night was reserved for an authentic ghost tour in downtown Savannah. Known for its mystical lore and many fantastical tales and myths, we were guided through some of the supernatural hotspots of the downtown area. Spooky!

Savannah is a Southern gem that is very much worth a visit - especially, if you choose the Alida Hotel as your leisurely home base. Just a few hours away, Savannah is a perfect getaway destination if you want to escape the big city but still want to experience contemporary cuisine, nightlife, rich cultural offerings, and historic enchantment.

LOVE THE LOOK!
